Map The Notes
Terms of Use
Last updated: October 26, 2026
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) apply to Map The Notes (the “Service”), a web app for mapping notes and chords on virtual instruments and recording audio takes. The Service is operated by 1000 Feet Inc., 8 The Green, Dover, DE 19901, United States (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
You can use the Service as a guest, in which case your boards, settings and recordings are kept only in your browser, or create an account to save your songs and recordings to our servers. A free account includes one saved song; Map The Notes Pro, a paid subscription, adds unlimited songs and other features described on the pricing page. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to online services in your country, to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us at info@1000feetabove.com if you think someone else has access to your account.
3. Map The Notes Pro
- Pro is billed monthly or yearly in advance, at the price shown at checkout. Taxes may be added depending on where you live.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time with “Manage subscription” in your account menu; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refunded for partial periods. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have a right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days; write to info@1000feetabove.com to use it.
- If we change the price, we will tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- If Pro ends, you keep all your songs and can keep opening and editing them; you can't create new songs beyond what the free plan includes.
4. Your content
Your songs, boards, chord names and recordings (“Your Content”) belong to you. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you, for example to save it, sync it between your devices and play it back. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights needed to record and store it. Recording someone else’s performance or copyrighted music may require their permission.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone’s rights while using the Service;
- upload malware or content meant to harm the Service or other people;
- try to access other users’ data, bypass security, or overload, scrape or disrupt the Service;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it regardless of this restriction.
6. Third-party material and links
Instrument sounds come from third-party sample libraries that are used under their own licenses (credited at the bottom of every page). Fonts are provided by Google Fonts. The Service links to other websites, including Learn Music Secrets, which is also operated by 1000 Feet Inc. and has its own terms. We are not responsible for websites we do not operate.
7. Availability and backups
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. Guest data lives only in your browser and is lost if you clear your browser data or switch devices. Sign in to keep your songs in your account, or use “Print / Save PDF” to keep a copy of anything that matters to you.
8. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 1000 Feet Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time. You can delete songs and recordings in the app, and ask us to delete your account by writing to info@1000feetabove.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put the Service or other users at risk.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Delaware. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections that the laws of your country of residence give you and that cannot be waived by contract.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and give notice of significant changes where the law requires it. If you keep using the Service after an update, the new Terms apply.
